I already have a personal Google Account, what is the difference between personal and UCSD Google accounts?
UCSD Google account is part of Google's G Suites for Educations. It offers enhanced features such as unlimited drive storage, Team Drive, shared calendars and resources. See these links for more details about G Suites for Education.
If you have signed up for a personal Google account using your UCSD email address in the past, that account is completely separate from the UCSD Google account. You will be prompted to choose which account to login (organizational or personal).
Can I keep using Mail/Outlook/Thunderbird with UCSD Google?
Yes. You can add the Google account into your email software. Depending on your email software, you may have the option to simply add a Google account, then sign in with your UCSD Google account. If you don't see the Google option when adding an account, use these settings to add a IMAP account.
How do I migrate my current UCSD Emails to UCSD Google?
The migration process is done by the campus email team. The Scripps IT Helpdesk is actively scheduling email migrations with the email team.

Google Team Drives are shared spaces where teams can easily store, search, and access their files anywhere, from any device. Unlike files in My Drive, files in Team Drive belong to the team instead of an individual. Even if members leave, the files stay exactly where they are so your team can continue to share information and get work done. Used in conjunction with Google Groups, it provides an easier way to provision access to Team Drive. Here's a Team Drive tutorial.
Google Groups can be used as a mailing list and/or as a discussion forum. It also provides a way to manage sharing for group members in Google Drive.
How do I request a Google Group?
